Welcome to the challenging, exhilarating world of finance. Financial professionals work with precision, and often under pressure, to manage large amounts of money in a complex environments.
Often financial managers are obtaining funds for an organization and guiding the wise use of those funds, even orchestrating all of an organization's financial affairs. Career opportunities include the interrelated areas of money and capital markets, investments, and financial management—and positions can be found in every segment of society
What You Study
Our curriculum hones the skill base necessary to excel in all of the above arena. It combines sharp analytical abilities, knowledge of markets and accounting statements and the “people person” skills of a top communicator. Study also focuses on the workings money and capital markets deal, including financial institutions such as banks, insurance companies, and investment firms.
How We Support Your Learning
Finance majors can develop their professional, social and networking skills through the activities of the Finance Club, and many gain experience through internships. Our experienced finance faculty have worked in the finance sector and are currently active in consulting and research—their experiences and insights are available to you both in the classroom and as your major advisor.
