Career Opportunities in Urban Redevelopment
The Career Opportunities in Real Estate Series is presented by the Opus College of Business Master of Science Degree in Real Estate program. This series brings in speakers from the real estate industry to provide valuable information and discussion. This is a free program open to the public.
Alan Arthur will address urban development and redevelopment projects - bright spots for the future of real estate. The need for housing, commercial and retail projects in urban settings will be driven by consumer demand. Professionals will be needed in all aspects of project development, construction and management.
Presenter Biography
Alan Arthur has been the chief executive officer at Aeon Homes, formerly Central Community Housing Trust (CCHT) since 1988 and has led the development of close to 1,705 units of affordable housing in Minneapolis. He brings nearly 40 years of experience in housing and real estate development, including construction, project development, lending, code enforcement and city planning.
Arthur teaches affordable housing development, financing and organizational governance to a variety of organizations, and serves on numerous housing boards and task forces. He has a B.A. in political science from Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas.
