Admission to our program is a competitive yet personalized process. Rather than using a strict formula, we evaluate all aspects of an applicant's qualifications. Undergraduate academic performance, GMAT scores, experience, personal statement, and letters of recommendation all impact the committee’s evaluation.
Our goal is to make the application process as consultative and transparent as possible. Who Should Apply
The UST MSA program selects highly motivated, talented individuals with an accounting major or its equivalent, who have the potential to become principled global business leaders. We therefore consider the entire application under the following criteria:
Academic Performance
We welcome applicants who hold a U.S. bachelor’s degree, or its equivalent, with a major in accounting, or its equivalent.
Coursework needed to apply:
- Intermediate Accounting sequence of courses
- Auditing
- Corporate income tax
- Cost accounting
- Advanced accounting
- Accounting information systems
- Business law
- Financial Management
Intellectual Aptitude
The MS in Accountancy program is demanding. We review the verbal, quantitative and analytical writing assessment on the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) as one indication of your potential to succeed in the MSA program. We also place high value on your overall GPA and on your grades in accounting courses in particular. This is why we ask that at least one Letter of Recommendation be from one of your accounting professors.
