Admission to our program is a competitive yet personalized process. Rather than using a strict formula, we evaluate all aspects of an applicant's qualifications.

Our goal is to make the application process as simple as possible. If you have any questions, or would like application materials mailed to you, please call 651-962-4110. In addition, we welcome you to visit campus, sit in on a class, and meet with current students and professors.


Coursework Needed to Apply

A Bachelor’s degree with a major in accounting or its equivalent is required of all applicants.  Students with international accounting degrees should contact the MSA office for additional information.

The following constitutes the minimum required undergraduate coursework in accounting.  All must be taken at the upper division level:

  • Intermediate Accounting sequence of courses
  • Auditing
  • Corporate income tax
  • Cost accounting
  • Advanced accounting
  • Accounting information systems
  • Business law

When to Apply

The Master of Science Degree in Accountancy starts accepting applications in August for the following summer's enrollment. We encourage interested and qualified applicants to apply as early as possible.

Deadline for July 2008 Admissions:
March 28, 2008

Applications received after the deadline will be reviewed on a space-available basis.

August 22, 2008 (priority review for UST undergraduates)
