The application process varies slightly for degree-seeking applicants and certificate applicants and there are additional requirements for international students as part of the application process.


Who Should Apply

The students in UST MBC courses will be a primary tool for expanding your awareness. UST MBC alumni indicate that the variety of experiences and points of view brought to the classroom by other professional adults made a powerful difference in the depth of their learning. Communication principles may be universal, but communication contexts are infinitely varied.

Students in the UST MBC program come from a broad range of jobs, industries, experiences and educational backgrounds. They are likely to be working in marketing, advertising, public relations, media relations, management, training, sales although the program contains educators, engineers, musicians, computer scientists and others looking to add communication to their areas of expertise.

Admissions Deadlines

New students may begin the UST MBC degree or certificate in the fall, spring or summer terms. The admissions committee reviews applications three times a year: in August, January and April. Decisions are provided shortly after each deadline date.

Upcoming deadlines:
August 5, 2013, for fall semester.
January 2, 2014, for spring semester.
April 15, 2014, for summer term and early fall semester consideration.

Student Profile

Students in the MBC program come from a broad range of jobs, industries, experiences and educational backgrounds.

Average age: 32

Most likely industries:
marketing / advertising, public relations / media relations, management, training and sales.

Other experience:
educators, engineers, musicians, computer scientists.

Employed in:
corporations, small businesses, agencies, social and professional service organizations, government, education and health care.

Experience: Many enter the program after the minimum two-year work requirement, but others bring five to ten years of professional experience.

Undergraduate degrees:
journalism/mass communication, speech communication, English, business, marketing, psychology, and even engineering and theology.
