NAWMBA Mission Statement and Objectives
The National Association of Women MBAs (NAWMBA) is dedicated to empowering women MBAs and graduate women in business; to propel more women into leadership positions in corporate America; and to enhance the diversity of the nation’s workforce.
UST NAWMBA Chapter Objectives
The UST NAWMBA chapter facilitates the development of UST MBA programs and UST MBA students by sponsoring educational, community-building and networking opportunities that empower UST MBA women to face career and organizational challenges in a proactive manner. Our goals are to
- Enhance the professional development of members through educational activities related to career and organizational challenges
- Foster community through mentor opportunities, networking events and discussion groups where UST MBA women share knowledge, think about issues from various perspectives and learn how to be proactive managers of their own careers and organizational experiences
- Build awareness about the positive impact of diversity in the workforce through external relations
- Promote the UST MBA as a premier program for graduate women in business
2008-2009 Highlights
- Increased membership from 8 to 38 - a 375% increase!
- Sept. 2008: Claire Roper, Cummins Power Generation, Marcia Varde, Varde
- Partners – panel on Women in Global Business
- Oct. 2008: UST team places in top 9 of 25 in NAWMBA National Marketing Competition. Team members included Laura Kalies, Eleana Johnson, Anne Tonolli, Emily Peick and Sophie Liu
- Nov. 2008: Sarah Wuest, Best Buy – Building Your Personal Brand
- Monthly “Table Topics” – Fireside chats with executives from Best Buy, Travelers, RBC Dain.
