Smart Start for Business

For Start-Up Businesses

You have an idea for a business. What’s the first step? Take the idea that has been forming in your head and see if you can turn it into an actual business.

In the Smart Start program you will develop your business concept and take it through each step of the business planning process. Through classroom activities, research and action steps, you will plan and analyze your entrepreneurial vision by creating a well-researched business plan.

You will also have free access to a Small Business Development Center consultant to provide one-on-one assistance as you create your business plan.

Smart Start consists of four two-hour sessions covering:

  • Concept analysis
  • Developing a marketing and sales strategy
  • Funding and financial planning
  • Reaching customers and operating your business
