Two comments the Family Business Center hears from members and program participants are, “I need my family to understand the financials of our company” and “I don’t have a clue why they send me those horrible spreadsheets.”

Join us this April for a one-day session that will help you stop worrying about family members who don’t understand your company’s financials. If you’re one of those who don’t understand financial statements, join us so you'll be able to ask intelligent questions when presented with a statement.


Learners will be able to:

  •  Read and understand financial statements including:
    • income statement
    • balance sheet
    • cash flow statement
  • Understand the relationship between the three statements
  • Analyze financial statements
  • Increase business  decision making using
    • Revenue and cost projection
    • Break even analysis
  • Understand the basics of valuation including:
    • Multiples
    • Liquidation
    • Discount rate 

Who should attend?
Owners and future owners of family businesses who want to understand basic financial concepts and statements. Owners or future owners who want a refresher on financial statements.


Fees
The fee for this program is $1,250 for your entire family and includes:

  • A one-day (10 a.m.-5 p.m.) session
  • Instruction from a UST professor
  • All course materials and meals
