Students living and working in southeastern Minnesota can receive the same high-quality graduate business education offered at our Twin Cities campuses.
St. Thomas has offered its prestigious UST MBA program in Owatonna for more than 20 years.
Over 120 students representing more than 80 organizations take classes at the Owatonna facility, located in the Mews Building at the Daniel C. Gainey Conference Center.
Course Schedule/Format
All the UST MBA core courses are offered on a regular cycle in Owatonna. Select popular elective courses are available.
Owatonna classes are scheduled in a unique weekend format for maximum flexibility and minimum travel for our students in greater southeastern Minnesota. Many professionals from the Twin Cities with busy work, travel, or family schedules also find the format appealing. Weekend format classes meet Friday evening and all day Saturday for four weekends during the semester, usually one weekend per month during the term. The average class size in Owatonna is 18 students, with a maximum of 24 students.
The Gainey Center also hosts the popular week-long Great Books elective course, which incorporates selected writings from classic and contemporary thinkers into management practice. Students stay and dine with their peers at this beautiful facility during the week-long experience.

Directions for Owatonna Facility
Directions from the Minneapolis St. Paul International Airport: Take 494 west to I-35W South (I-35W becomes I-35). Follow I-35 south to Owatonna, take Exit #40 onto Highway 14 East. Take the first exit off of Highway 14 East onto County Road 45. The Gainey Conference Center entrance is at the top of the exit; cross County Road 45 and enter the main gate.
Directions from the South (from Iowa): Take I-35 north to Exit #40 onto Highway 14 East. Take the first exit off of Highway 14 East onto County Road 45. The Gainey Conference Center entrance is at the top of the exit; cross County Road 45 and enter the main gate.
Directions from the East (Rochester): Take Highway 14 west to Owatonna. Take the County Road 45 exit. At the stop sign at the top of the exit turn left onto County Road 45. Follow County Road 45 over the bridge. The Gainey Conference Center entrance will be the first drive on your right after the bridge.
Directions from the West (Mankato): Take Highway 14 east to Owatonna. Take the I-35 South exit off of Highway 14 East. Follow I-35 south for approximately 3 miles (I-35 meets with Highway 14 east again at Exit #40). Take Exit #40 onto Highway 14 East. Take the first exit off of Highway 14 east onto County Road 45. The Gainey Conference Center entrance is at the top of the exit; cross County Road 45 and enter the main gate.
