Camp, hike, stay warm in January while earning lab science credits

The Geology Department will host an information session on its January Term course, GEOL 260, Regional Geology and Geological Field Methods, for any interested students.

The session will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 22, in Room 120, O'Shaughnessy Science Hall.

This course will satisfy the second lab science requirement at St. Thomas as well as major requirements in geology, environmental science and environmental studies (for some concentration areas).

The course costs about $3,400 (about as much as an on-campus course) and the fee covers airfare, ground transportation, lodging and meals. Students will fly in and out of Las Vegas, Nev., and spend time in the Lake Mead National Recreation Area, Zion National Park and Death Valley National Park.
