The Ordway Center for the Performing Arts invites the St. Thomas campus community to attend TU Dance on Friday, May 6. The performance begins at 7:30 p.m.

TU Dance, led by Alvin Ailey veterans Toni Pierce-Sands and Uri Sands, has quickly become a leading voice in the Minnesota dance scene. Inspired by the depictions of urban life and dance in the paintings of African American artist Ernie Barnes, choreographer Uri Sands brings the movement of Barnes’ work from the canvas to the stage in this commissioned world premiere. Also on the program for TU Dance’s Ordway debut are selections from the company’s growing repertoire. This performance is supported by The Joyce Foundation with a Joyce Award.

Tickets can be purchased for $15 (including fees) using the promotional code TUUST in the Ordway’s box office, online or by phone, (651) 224-4222. Tickets also are available at St. Thomas’ Box Office and Expeditions in the lower level of Murray-Herrick Campus Center.

This special ticket offer, open to students, faculty and staff, is made possible through Ordway’s Campus Connection Program with St. Thomas funded by the Wallace Foundation.
