- Monsignor Lavin visits St. John Vianney Seminary
Monsignor James Lavin, who lived in Ireland Hall from 1946 to 2002, visited St. John Vianney Seminary for evening prayer on Thursday, Sept. 17. He gave a brief talk and afterward greeted and blessed each of the seminarians. Lavin arrived at the St. Thomas campus 73 years ago as a freshman; he graduated in 1940 and was ordained in 1945.
