The women’s varsity eight finished second, the highest placing ever for the team. The men’s varsity four beat all competitors by more than half a minute in its season-opening race.

The magazine’s annual national rankings of “best graduate schools” will be published in the May issue and in a guidebook available on newsstands next week.
