Teaching Licensure

Teacher Licensure

The School of Education at UST offers several teaching licensure options for students who are interested in combining their enthusiasm for biology with a desire to pass on that enthusiasm to future generations.  See the School of Education licensure page for more information.

  • Elementary (K-6) with Science and Mathematics for Elementary Education (SMEE)
  • Elementary (K-6) with a Specialty in Science (5-8)
  • Life Science (9-12) with General Science (5-8)
  • Co-major in Secondary Education

Another option for those interested in teaching biology is to obtain a degree in biology and then continue your education by obtaining an M.A. in Education and graduate teaching licensure in either elementary or secondary education.  These programs at UST are explained on the Graduate Licensure page for the School of Education.
