Aquinas Fellow

Year at UST: Senior
Major: Catholic Studies and Philosophy
Minor:
Hometown: Marshall, MN

Why did you come to UST?
I came for the Catholic Studies program. I knew that I wanted to learn mote about the Catholic faith and I knew that the Catholic Studies department was a place that would allow me to do that.

What does it mean to you to be selected as an Aquinas Fellow?
For me, being an Aquinas Fellow is a great honor and also a challenge to live out my vocation every day – and to help others seek out and live their vocations.

What has been your most valuable experience at UST?
My most valuable experience was being able to study in Rome for a year, I was able to better understand and see the beauty of the Catholic faith. Also, my year in Rome helped me to fall more in love with Christ and the Catholic faith.

How will being an Aquinas Fellow help you discern and work towards your vocation?
To be an Aquinas Fellow is a constant reminder to live out my vocation in my daily life, no matter what the cross is that I will have to bear. I know that Christ and his great mercy will be there to support me.

What advice would you give a student about discerning their vocation?
Pray, trust, and go forward. Pray that the Lord will show you his will, trust that He will do this (not in your time, but in His time), and go forward without fear, knowing that the Lord will show you His will. All you have to do is follow.
