Why did you decide to come to UST?
I decided to come to UST because I was interested in pursuing studies involving my faith and science. I needed a school that could offer solid education in both areas, as well as provide an environment for guidance and growth.
What does it mean to you to be selected as an Aquinas Fellow?
It is truly an honor to be selected as an Aquinas Fellow. For myself, the Fellowship represents university support and approval for my on-going work towards my vocation in service of others and God. Additionally, the Fellowship offers encouragement to keep striving to live in accordance with the will of God in my pursuit of my vocation.
What has been your most valuable experience so far at St. Thomas?
Among the valuable experiences I have had at St. Thomas, I feel that my experience on-campus working and studying with the UST community is the most precious aspect of my undergraduate education. The professors, students, and staff at St. Thomas are a dynamic group of individuals. On a daily basis, I find I am strongly impacted by their wealth of character, knowledge, faith, support and charity.
What advice would you give a student about discerning their vocation?
I would advise to be patient with one’s vocation. Like the human person, vocational inclination comes to maturity over time with proper care and support. It is also important to trust in God and yourself that such maturation will occur and be fruitful.
