ometown: Sturgeon Lake, MN

Why did you come to UST?
Catholic University, Great Engineering program, AFROTC with outstanding reputation, location (in MN, residential area, beautiful campus)

What does it mean to you to be selected as an Aquinas Fellow?
It is an honor to be part of a group of people who share the same values and desire to learn and grow in their faith.

What has been your most valuable experience at UST?
The Catholic Women’s floor would be one of the most valuable.  I learned a lot about Catholicism.  As my understanding grew, so did my desire to learn more.

How will being an Aquinas Fellow help you discern and work towards your vocation?
It will give me more opportunity to learn more about and grow in my faith.  The scholarship will actually go towards my Catholic Studies Minor, enabling me to learn even more.

What advice would you give a student about discerning their vocation?
Visit a religious community. Don’t rush anything. Pray a lot, but don’t make discernment consume you too much.  You have to keep up with your school work also. Talk to people. Get different perspectives/opinions, but take everything with a grain of salt and analyze the credibility of the source.
