St. Thomas is an NCAA Division III school and a member of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.  Men and women compete in 20 varsity sports and nearly 40 club teams.  More than one third of all undergraduate students participate in intercollegiate varsity or club competitions.  Also, nearly 60 teams participate in the intramural sports program, which schedules competition on campus, among local colleges and independent groups.
