Letter of Recommendation forms: Degree Non-degree
Application Deadline:
March 1 (summer or fall)
November 1 (spring)
Admission Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in art history or a related field from an accredited college or university verified by an official transcript. An art history major is the best preparation, but students may be accepted with a strong liberal arts or interdisciplinary background. Undergraduate coursework in art history or professional experience in the discipline is expected.
Official transcripts from all post-secondary schools attended should be sent directly to the Art History Department graduate office.
Nondegree Admission Deadlines:
Fall semester - Aug. 15
Spring semester - Jan. 15
Summer session - May 1
You may begin the Master of Arts degree in Art History as a nondegree student. This option may interest prospective students whose schedules do not work with the timing of the March or Nov. application deadlines. Enrolling in one or more courses at nondegree status can also provide contact with faculty members, an opportunity to develop a writing sample for the degree application, and/or a chance to evaluate whether the program's offerings match your needs, interests, and abilities. The following are admission criteria for nondegree students:
Nonresidents of the United States are encouraged to plan well in advance of the application deadlines. Additional documentation is required of International students as specified in the online application.
