This alumni group grew organically as graduates of the Art History masters program began meeting informally to share their experiences and discuss opportunities in the local visual arts community. Formally aligned with the Art History Department in 2005, Art History Masters alumni group is coordinated by a pair of volunteers who foster communication among alumni through e-mail updates and social networking outlets. Occasional social gatherings are planned, often surrounding an exhibition opening or other Art History related event in the Twin Cities community. Additionally, the group seeks to be of service to current students and works with the Graduate Program Manager to plan and/or participate in events such as M.A. career symposiums and resume writing workshops. Please forward questions and ideas for this group to gradarthist@stthomas.edu.
In 2005, Art History Alumni Masters purchased Stella Ebner's watercolor Library I in memory of our teacher Dr. Mary Towley Swanson, who founded the Graduate Program.
