Last week marked the eighth annual International Education Week, an occasion designated for recognizing international minorities and the diverse backgrounds they bring to St. Thomas.

During the week, spanning from Sept. 29 to Oct. 3, activities ranging from an international game night to a traditional Japanese tea ceremony were held to encourage education on other cultures. In addition, each day the Grill offered glimpses into different cultural foods, dishing out a Russian napoleon dessert, Saudi Arabian kapsa, Greek gyros and other meals.

Also during normal lunch hours on Oct. 2, the Coughlin Field House was transformed into an international haven, hosting the annual International Food and Fun Fair. During the event, students were immersed not only with different foods, but also with different traditional activities.
