Student Employment at St. Thomas

International students who hold F-1 ("student") or J-1 ("exchange visitor") visa status are not generally allowed to work off campus. However, they may work for St. Thomas on the St. Thomas campus.

Note:  If you have been fully admitted to begin studies at St. Thomas and intend to study at St. Thomas on a visa other than F-1 or J-1, please visit the Office of International Student Services' immigration information page for more information about working in the U.S.

International students are responsible for finding their own employment. The Office of International Recruiting and Admissions does not guarantee employment at St. Thomas to any international students.

If you have been fully admitted to begin studies at St. Thomas, you may apply for a job through St. Thomas's Human Resources department. Please read all of the information about student employment on Human Resources' web site thoroughly.

If you are hired for an on-campus job, once you begin studies at St. Thomas, the Office of International Student Services can help you fill out paperwork.
