Q:  When Should I Arrive?
A:  It depends.
 

Undergraduates Living On Campus

If you are an undergraduate who will be living in on-campus housing, the first day that the residence halls will be fully ready to move into is August 28.

You should arrive no later than August 31.  (Orientation dates are September 1-September 4.)

However, if you need to arrive earlier than August 28, you have two options:

Undergraduates Living Off Campus

If you are an undergraduate and plan to live off campus, you may arrive up to 30 days before the your I-20 or DS2019 start date.

The suggested arrival date is August 28.

You should arrive no later than August 31.  (Orientation dates are September 1-September 4.)
 

Graduates Who Plan To Study With F-1 Or J-1 Status

Consult your graduate program for assistance with choosing an arrival date.  You may not arrive more than 30 days before your I-20 or DS2019 start date.

You should arrive no later than September 1.
 

Graduates Who Plan To Study On Another Visa Status

Consult your graduate program for assistance with choosing an arrival date.
