About The Area

The Twin Cities area is the largest urban area in Minnesota, containing its largest city (Minneapolis) and its capital (St. Paul).

The Twin Cities area consists of unique combinations of skyscrapers and parks, urban and residential living, and four-lane highways and quiet residential streets.

Numerous attractions bring visitors to the Twin Cities each year:

• Many art museums and theaters are spread throughout the area, including the Walker Art Center, Weisman Art Museum, Fitzgerald Theater, and Guthrie Theater.
   
• The Twin Cities area is home to Minnesota’s professional sports teams in football, baseball, soccer, basketball, hockey, lacrosse, and more.
   
• A wide variety of restaurants and shopping centers provide enjoyment for many, especially at the Mall of America.  The Mall of America is the largest enclosed mall in the United States, drawing in over 40 million people a year.

The Twin Cities have a great public transportation system that will allow you to see it all.  Metro Transit buses and light rail trains will bring you up, down, and around the Twin Cities in comfort and for a reasonable cost.
