The University of St. Thomas

International Admissions

Why did you choose UST?

I chose St. Thomas because of the good social work program available.  Also, I wanted to gain a lot of knowledge which I’ll be able to take back home and possibly develop my community and several communities around me.  An education from St. Thomas will greatly help me with that.

What do you like best about UST?

I love the people around me and mostly the fact that there are a lot of opportunities available for each and everyone.

What do you like about being a student in the Twin Cities area?

I like the area because everyone here is friendly and because of that, it is easy to get around and easy to adjust to living here in a new environment.

What clubs, organizations, etc. are you involved with?

ANSA (African Nation Student Association), GMSA (Globally Minded Student Association), MSA (Muslim Student Association), HANA (multicultural student club) and Up ‘til Dawn.

What advice would you give to prospective international students?

The best advice I can give is as long as you manage to get here, use up all the opportunities you have available to you and take part in several school activities because you are able to meet a lot of people who in will be great help to you.  Do well academically and make good use of all the resources that you have.
