I chose St. Thomas because I was told there were Ugandans attending so I wanted to feel at home. I also wanted to attend a university where I would grow morally as well as intellectually and St. Thomas offers exactly that through its rich Catholic tradition.
The professors are great and always available to answer questions. The small class size gives students the opportunity to get more attention from professors. There are lots of resources and opportunities on campus which students can engage in: the career development center, the center for writing, academic counseling, the math resource center, research with faculty, study abroad, just to mention a few. Everyone here is nice and polite and accommodative of international students.
There is a wide variety of fun and yet educational things to do in the Twin Cities. The Mall of America is my favorite. The Twin Cities area is dotted with many theatres, shopping malls and recreation centers, intertwined by the great Mississippi River. I have visited many cities in the U.S but I didn’t experience the kind of cozy and calm atmosphere that runs through these non-identical twin cities of St. Paul and Minneapolis.
