This summer 14 American Culture and Difference faculty met on Wednesday, August 26th and Thursday August 27th for a seminar to discuss the current state of the discipline, to review/assess what the program has accomplished, and to explore ways in which we can improve/amend the program for the future.

After many stimulating discussions and an intellectually invigorating couple of days, we came away with some fresh ways to make AC&D even a more vital force on the campus. At the moment, we plan on developing a capstone experience for the minor, formulating new learning objectives for all ACD classes (see link), considering area specializations within the minor that are optional, and making the interdisciplinary/diversity work we do for our minor more visible to other folks/committees in the university.
