A women’s studies faculty member responds: “Of course. Women’s studies explores how gender organizes experiences for both women and men in our own culture and around the world.”

What are recent graduates doing now?

Tara Trepanier ’05, is serving in the Peace Corps in the Republic of Macedonia. She has been involved in projects such as Camp GLOW (Girls Leading Our World) and “Women, Society, and the Future:  The Objectification of Women in the Media.”

What opportunities are there to bolster my resume while I'm in the program?

Internships. The women’s studies major requires one internship course (designated as an independent study) which combines theoretical, practical and research components. Recent internship sites include Casa de Esperanza, the Jeremiah Program and the Family Place.

Study abroad. Study abroad allows students to experience women’s studies from an international perspective.

Faculty at work

The women’s studies faculty publish articles, present papers at national conferences, produce films and engage in community-based teaching and learning.
