Returning Students

Were you previously a student at St. Thomas and plan to return to complete your degree?

If you left the university in good standing, to re-enroll you must complete the Former Returning student paperwork and meet with an Academic Counselor. Call 651.962.6300 to schedule an appointment.

If you left the university because you were suspended you will need to meet with an Academic Counselor to discuss re-enrolling. The Academic Counselor will go over the conditions necessary for you to return to classes and answer any questions you may have regarding registering for classes and completing your remaining graduation requirements. One condition required of all returning suspended students is that they attend a seminar offered by the Academic Support Center to discuss how to improve their study habits.

If you left the university because you were dismissed, you need to meet with an Academic Counselor. The Academic Counselor will help you prepare an appeal to the Committee on Studies for Readmission after Academic Dismissal. It is often helpful if dismissed students are able to provide evidence of their ability to succeed academically, usually in the form of courses completed at another institution after the dismissal from UST.

Are you a graduate of St. Thomas and wish to return to add on a major or a minor to your degree? This is called “enhancing your degree” and to return you must fill out Former Returning student paperwork in the Registrar’s office and file a Major/Minor Field Declaration card in Academic Counseling. It may be helpful for you to meet with an Academic Counselor to understand the requirements for a specific major or minor.
