Katie Russell
Education M.A. Leadership in Student Affairs, The University of St. Thomas (expected May 2008) B.A., Sociology, The University of Minnesota Duluth How did I get here? After graduating from the University of Minnesota Duluth I worked in the social service field, first as a youthworker in a children’s crisis center and then as an advocate for individuals without health insurance and/or applying for Social Security Disability Benefits. While I enjoyed my work, being away from college helped me to realize my appreciation of the academic environment. In the fall of 2006 I began to pursue my M.A. at the University of St. Thomas with a particular interest in Academic Counseling. Since starting the program, I have held internships/graduate assistantships in Capella University’s Career Center, with UST’s orientation programs, and now, I am excited to be interning with Academic Counseling.
Interests/Spare Time Learning, reading, movies, dining out, biking, being active, and spending time with family and friends.
