Certification Program in Church Business
Administration (NACBA)

The Saint Paul Seminary School of Divinity of the University of St. Thomas offers a national certification program in church business administration. The program consists of two continuing education seminars, each two weeks in length, accredited by the National Association of Church Business Administration (NACBA), which established its guidelines. Interdenominational in nature, it is open to anyone nationally who has or is seeking work experience in church business administration. The seminars cover topics on Personnel Human Resource Management, Staff Development, Congregational Leadership, Theology of Stewardship, Office Management, Information Management, Property Management, Communication and Marketing, Strategic Planning, Financial Management, Stewardship of Self, Legal and Tax Matters, Christian Perspectives and Theology of the Church, and Theology and Ethics of Church Administration.

The Siena Symposium for Women, Family, and Culture is an interdisciplinary faculty group, founded at the University of St. Thomas in 2003, and interested in responding to the call issued to women by Pope John Paul II in Evangelium Vitae, his 1995 Encyclical "The Gospel of Life.” The Holy Father states quite clearly in that document (#99) that it is up to women to develop a new and explicitly Christian feminism, one that affirms the role of women in transforming our culture so that it supports life. This is our mission; our work is devoted to investigating the foundations and implications of an authentic understanding of the complementary natures of men and women as they work together to build a culture of life.
