The Archbishop Harry J. Flynn Catechetical Institute is an ongoing formation resource for Catholic adults of the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis who wish to deepen their knowledge of the Catholic faith and further their spiritual formation.
In essence, the Catechism is seen as the road map for the journey in faith, with each module of the four-module program focusing on one of the four pillars of the Catechism:
Creed: The Story in Miniature
Sacraments: The Blessing Revealed and Communicated
The Moral Life: Fulfillment in Beatitude
Prayer: The Blessing Given and Received
At the request of Archbishop Harry J. Flynn in 2007, The Saint Paul Seminary is overseeing this initiative and has engaged Jeff Cavins as its director.
"Joe Michalak taught us that in the Liturgy, by the on-going action of the Triune God and specifically through the work of the Holy Spirit, we are offering our 'being-divinized' selves in and as part of the offering of Jesus to the Father. 'In what she offers, she herself is offered' (Augustine, quoted in ¶ 1372)."
