This office handles all parking questions, issues parking permits, takes requests for special event parking, sells Metro Transit bus passes, and processes UST parking tickets and appeals for both the St. Paul and Minneapolis campuses.

Christmas Break Parking
Christmas break parking will begin on Friday, Dec.12 at 4:30 pm and will run through Sunday, Jan. 4, at 10:00 pm. Parking permits will not be required to park in the red and yellow lots and the resident parking areas of R2, R3 and the Anderson Parking Facility. The gates will be raised on these parking ramps at 4:30 pm on Friday, Dec. 12 and will be closed at 10:00 pm, Sunday, Jan. 4.
Vehicles that are left on campus over winter break should be parked in the R2 or R3 ramps on north campus or the Anderson Parking Ramp on South Campus. In order to properly plow the lots, it is necessary that other lots not be used for storing vehicles over holiday breaks.
If your vehicle will be parked on campus between Dec. 21 and Jan. 2, regardless of whether you have a current UST permit, be sure to notify Public Safety at (651) 962-5100. You will be asked for your license plate number and a contact phone number for these dates.
Those who are leaving their vehicle on campus for any extended amount of time (more than 48 hours), are advised to leave the keys with a friend or family member and leave contact information with Public Safety in case the vehicle needs to be moved. Anyone leaving their vehicle on campus over break is subject to towing at their own expense.
The J-term shuttle schedule will begin Monday, Jan. 22 and run through Friday, Jan. 30. The UST Shuttle will not run from Wednesday, Dec. 24 through Friday, Jan. 2.
Parking permits are required during J-Term and all parking policies are enforced.
Full Year, fall semester and spring semester parking permits for 2013-2014 are valid during J-Term. There is a $30 fee for "J-Term only" parking permits which may be purchased at the Parking Office located on the corner of Finn and Grand. This is for students who do not have full year or semester parking permits and need to be on campus for J-Term.
Resident student parking permit lottery now open
Resident students wishing to purchase a parking permit for the spring 2015 semester must first enter the resident parking permit lottery. The deadline for submitting the lottery form is December 11. Lottery results will be emailed after 3:00 pm, Monday, Dec. 15. Lottery information and a link to the lottery form can be found on the Resident Student parking lottery webpage. Registration and purchase of resident permits will be available on Dec. 15.
I’m beginning plans for the staff Christmas meal. Last year several of the management staff got together at Dan’s house to prepare the meal. Food was made and we all had fun. Is there interest in doing this again? I’m thinking Dec. 23, Tuesday.
Spring 2015 Parking Permit Sales for the Minneapolis Campus Begin Dec. 8
Minneapolis, full-time day students who purchased a parking contract for the Minneapolis campus for the fall 2014 semester only must renew or terminate their current parking contract by Monday, Jan. 5 at 4:00 p.m. By renewing their current contract during this time students will be insured of the ability to park on-campus for both J-term and spring semester 2015.
Permit registration will open through Murphy Online https://banner.stthomas.edu/pls/banner/prod/twbkwbis.P_WWWLogin on Monday, Dec. 8.
New and returning students who did not purchase a fall semester parking contract, and who wish to purchase a contract for both the J-term and spring 2015 semester can do so by registering through Murphy Online, and presenting a printed copy of the registration form to Parking Services on the Minneapolis campus at the time of purchase.
Sales of new contracts, and renewal of current parking contracts, again will continue through Jan. 5 at 4:00 p.m.
Students who do not renew their current parking contract by the date and time listed above will their parking privileges for the Minneapolis campus suspended as of 4:00 p.m. on Jan 5. Included in this, for those students who park in the ramp will be the loss of the $30 refundable deposit paid on the contract card for the ramp at the time of purchase.
All contract cards for the ramp for those students choosing not to renew their current parking contract again must be returned to Parking Services by 4:00 p.m. on Jan. 5. Students choosing to park in the ramp on that day must pull a ticket at the entrance gate to the ramp at the time of arrival, and come to Parking Services to receive a validation for the cost of their parking, and to return their contract card for the ramp.
Parking Services for the Minneapolis campus is located in the School of Law room 252, and is open M-F from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Permit Sales for St. Paul campus parking permits begins Dec. 15
St. Paul spring commuter, adjunct and evening permits, along with J-term permits, will go on sale Monday, Dec. 15. Commuter permits will cost $105, adjunct $130 and evening $65. J-term only permits will be available to residents, commuters and staff for $30.
Permit registration must be completed prior to picking up permits from the Parking Services Office. Permit registration can be completed through Murphy Online.
Due to the Christmas and New Year’s holiday’s Parking Services on the St. Paul and Minneapolis campuses will be closed from Wednesday Dec. 24 through Sunday Jan. 4, and will re-open on Monday Jan. 5 at 8:00 a.m.
