Finals Week, Move-out and Summer Parking
To provide enough space for resident students, Lots A, B and C will be reserved for students moving out Wednesday, May 18, to Friday, May 20; also, portions of Lots G, U and O will have designated parking for move-out. The reserved move-out spaces will have a one-hour limit. If you need to remain on campus following move-out, please move your vehicle to the south campus.
Trailers and larger trucks cannot be accommodated in lots and are not permitted on campus.
As always, there is no parking permitted, under any circumstance, in fire lanes, drive aisles, in front of dumpsters, on the grass or other restricted areas to load vehicles during move-out. Vehicles in serious violation of parking policies may be ticketed or towed at the owner’s expense.
Those who usually park in the above-reserved areas for move-out are encouraged to park in Anderson Parking Facility or Lots O and M on the south campus. (Please remember the entrance to the south campus surface lots is located on Summit Avenue.)
As part of the move-out, summer parking will begin at 6 p.m. Friday, May 13. The gates to the Anderson and Morrison parking facilities will be raised, and permits will not be required to park in the red and yellow lots and the UST resident lots. Other restrictions will remain in place, including overnight parking. During the week, overnight guests should be directed to either the Morrison Ramps, the Anderson Parking Facility or Lot U. Weekend overnight parking will continue as usual.
Students enrolled in the following programs are eligible to purchase a summer parking permit for the Minneapolis campus
Minneapolis Campus Full-time Day Students: Terminate your current parking contract by Tuesday, May 31 including the return of your parking card if you park in the ramp
Minneapolis, full-time day students who purchased a parking contract for the Minneapolis campus for the 2015-2016 academic year those contracts must be terminated with Parking Services on the Minneapolis campus on or before Tuesday, May 31.
At the time of termination students who parked in the ramp at 11th St. & Harmon Pl. must return their parking contract card for that location.
Parking at this location will be validated on the date of termination.
Failure to return the contract card for the ramp will result in the loss of the $30 deposit paid on the card at the time of purchase, as well the opportunity for first priority parking in the ramp for 2016-2017. For graduating students failure to terminate your parking contract by the June 2 deadline may result in delays in receiving your official transcripts from the University.
For those students who park in the University of St. Thomas parking lot located on LaSalle Ave. between 11th St. & 12th St. access to parking at that location will officially expire as of Tuesday, May 31.
Students who successfully terminate their 2015-2016 parking option with Parking Services will have the opportunity to pre-register for their 2016-2017 parking option by indicating at the time of termination that they will be returning for 2015-2016, and wish to have parking available to them. This includes the ability to select the same parking option they currently have.
Students with questions or concerns should stop by Parking Services on the Minneapolis campus located in the Minneapolis School of Law, room 252, Monday – Friday between 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. or by calling (651) 962-4100.
