This office handles all parking questions, issues parking permits, takes requests for special event parking, sells Metro Transit bus passes, and processes UST parking tickets and appeals for both the St. Paul and Minneapolis campuses.

South Campus Ramp, Drive Aisle to Close Wednesday for Three Weeks

The Anderson Parking Facility will close for three weeks and no vehicles will be allowed to drive into the south campus at Cretin and Grand avenues beginning Wednesday, July 30.

The restrictions will allow Ryan Companies to rebuild the drive from Cretin to the parking ramp entrance and construct an east-west sidewalk along the south side of the greenhouse. The goal of rebuilding the drive is to eliminate the dip in the grade at Cretin and improve drainage at the intersection.

Floors in the parking ramp also will be resealed during the three-week period. All vehicles must be moved out of ramp by 5 p.m. Tuesday.

The only access to the south campus will be off Summit Avenue, between Loras Hall and the St. Paul Seminary, and employees and guests who have been using the ramp will need to find other locations to park.

Lots M and O generally will be available, with Lot M unavailable until 10 a.m. Mondays and on Saturdays to accommodate an organization that has contracted for use of the lot. Parking will be free in level R-2 and R-3 of the Morrison Residence Hall ramp.

Lots P, X and Y on the south campus will continue to be restricted for use by the seminary, and vehicles without permits for those lots will be ticketed.

Employees also may want to consider using other forms of transportation including Metro Transit, bicycles, or car pooling.  

The projects are related to Facilities and Design Center construction, which began March 31. The $6.5 million, 32,000-square-foot building will completed by September, serving as the home for central receiving, recycling, and equipment maintenance and storage operations as well as providing additional laboratory space for the School of Engineering.

Registration for Faculty/Staff permits opens Aug. 1, through Murphy Online.

Those faculty and staff who register for their parking permits by Aug. 8, will have their permits mailed to them. For those who do not register by Aug. 8, parking permits will be available for pick up in Minneapolis starting Aug. 11 and in St. Paul starting Aug. 18.

C-Pass and Minneapolis parking permit sales begin Aug. 11.

C-Pass sales will begin in both St. Paul and Minneapolis on Aug. 11. The C-pass costs $150 for the semester and is good for unlimited rides on the Metro Transit light rail and bus lines.

Beginning Monday, Aug. 11, full-time students enrolled in the following academic programs on the Minneapolis campus will have the opportunity to purchase a Fall 2014, or full year (2014-2105) parking permit for the Minneapolis campus. Students enrolled in the School of Law, the Full-time Day MBA Program and the Master of Science Degree in Accountancy (MSA) who are taking 12 or more credits on the Minneapolis campus between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. are eligible to enroll for a parking permit for the Minneapolis campus. The cost of the permit is $225 for one semester (Fall 2014), or $450 for the year (Aug. 11, 2014 – May 31, 2015).  For those students who receive a contract for the City of Minneapolis ramp at 11th St. & Harmon Pl. they will be charged an additional $30 refundable deposit that will be refunded to their Student Account when the parking card for the ramp is returned to Parking Services on the Minneapolis campus at the end of their current contract (Fall 2014 or May 31, 2015).  It is the responsibility of the student to return their contract card, if they have one, for the 11th St. & Harmon Pl. at the end of their current contract!

Students who choose not to park in the ramp, or who do not receive a parking contract for the 11th St. & Harmon Pl. Ramp, will receive a contract to park in the University of St. Thomas “flat” parking lot located at the corners of 11th St. & LaSalle Ave. in front of the University of St. Thomas School of Law. The cost for parking at this location is $225 for one semester (Fall 2014) or $450 for the year (Aug. 11, 2014 – May 31, 2015).  

Students who are looking to enroll for a parking permit for the Minneapolis campus must register through Murphy Online https://banner.stthomas.edu/pls/banner/prod/twbkwbis.P_WWWLogin.

Completed registrations must be printed and brought to Parking Services on the Minneapolis campus located in the School of Law room 252.

Returning students who had a 2013-2014 parking permit, and who pre-registered for a Fall 2014, or full year parking permit at the time termination last spring (2014) will have their contract set aside, and ready to be picked up starting Aug. 11, and will remain available for them to pick up through Friday, Sept. 5.

Pre-registered contracts for the 11th St. & Harmon Pl. Ramp not picked up by Friday, Sept. 5, those parking contracts will be given out to any students waiting to get a parking contract for the ramp.   

Permits will be available for purchase from 8:00 a.m.  – 4:00 p.m. M-F.

St. Paul commuter parking permit sales begin Aug. 18. Murphy Online registration opens Aug. 1.

St. Paul commuter permits cost $105/semester and $200/year. Evening permits cost $65/semester and $125/year.

Starting Monday, June 16 the UST shuttle bus stop on the St. Paul campus will move from the Arches westbound on summit Ave. and pick up in front of the Anderson Student Center
