This office handles all parking questions, issues parking permits, takes requests for special event parking, sells Metro Transit bus passes, and processes UST parking tickets and appeals for both the St. Paul and Minneapolis campuses. .
St. Paul J-Term & Spring Permit Sales Begin Dec. 16
Resident students who want to purchase a spring parking permit must submit a lottery form by Thursday, Dec. 12.
January Term and spring semester St. Paul parking permits go on sale Monday, Dec. 16.
Resident students who want to purchase a spring parking permit have until 11 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, to enter the lottery. The lottery form can be completed online or brought to the Parking Services office, 2119 Grand Ave.
Resident students who enter the parking-permit lottery and are awarded a permit may purchase their permits after 3 p.m. Monday, Dec. 16, when the lottery results have been sent by email. Commuter permits will be available for purchase at 8 a.m. Permit registration must be completed through Murphy Online prior to picking up permit.
Yearlong and semester permits include J-Term. Resident and commuter J-Term only permits cost $30. Spring semester resident permits (including J-Term) cost $230 and spring commuter permits cost $105. Semester evening permits cost $65. Spring semester permits may be purchased Dec. 16 through the beginning of spring semester.
Spring semester College Pass (C-Pass) bus passes from Metro Transit also will be available on Dec. 16. These passes cost $150 and are good for unlimited rides on Metro Transit buses and light rail through the end of May.
Parking permits and C-Pass cards will be available for sale in the Parking Services office at 2119 Grand Ave. (corner of Grand and Finn). Regular office hours are 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. During the first week of spring semester classes, Feb. 3-6, the St. Paul Parking Services office will be open until 7 p.m.
Minneapolis Spring Parking Permit Sales Begin Dec. 9
Minneapolis, full-time day students who purchased a parking contract for the Minneapolis campus for the fall 2013 semester only must renew or terminate their current parking contract by Thursday, Jan. 2 at 4:00 p.m. By renewing their current contract during this time students will be insured of the ability to park on-campus for both J-term and spring semester 2014.
Permit registration will open through Murphy Online on Monday, Dec. 9.
New and returning students who did not purchase a fall semester parking contract, and who wish to purchase a contract for both the J-term and spring 2014 semester can do so by registering through Murphy Online, and presenting a printed copy of the registration form to Parking Services on the Minneapolis campus at the time of purchase.
Sales of new contracts, and renewal of current parking contracts, again will continue through Jan. 2 at 4:00 p.m.
Students who do not renew their current parking contract by the date and time listed above will their parking privileges for the Minneapolis campus suspended as of 4:00 p.m. on Jan 2. Included in this, for those students who park in the ramp will be the loss of the $30 refundable deposit paid on the contract card for the ramp at the time of purchase.
All contract cards for the ramp for those students choosing not to renew their current parking contract again must be returned to Parking Services by 4:00 p.m. on Jan. 2. Students choosing to park in the ramp on that day must pull a ticket at the entrance gate to the ramp at the time of arrival, and come to Parking Services to receive a validation for the cost of their parking, and to return their contract card for the ramp.
