Legal Analysis Review: Information About Enrollment

To apply to enroll in this course, see Scott Swanson in his office or e-mail him at sgswanson@stthomas.edu.  Enrollment is limited to 20 3L students, by Scott’s permission.

This class is designed to assist students who have experienced a lack of ability to execute complex legal analysis in the context of a written answer to a legal question.  The primary focus will be on creating an effective structure (essential to understanding substantive content) and utilizing that structure to communicate factual analysis of legal issues to a third party.

Those who will most clearly benefit from this class are people who have been consistently unable to communicate their knowledge of substantive legal materials in the context of classes that have a large substantive legal component (any topic that is tested on the bar exam).  Often, that  lack of ability has been communicated to the student through grades that the student feels are not representative of the student’s understanding of the substantive materials.
