Julie Oseid received her J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School, magna cum laude, Order of the Coif, in 1986. She was a Notes and Comments editor of the Minnesota Law Review. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Minnesota, Duluth with a bachelor of arts in English and Communications.

Oseid clerked for Judge John T. Noonan, Jr. at the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco, CA. In law school, she clerked for the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office, Minneapolis, in the Criminal Division. She was an associate in the Business Litigation department of Oppenheimer Wolff & Donnelly for five years. She taught one year as an adjunct instructor of Legal Writing & Research at the University of Minnesota Law School.

For thirteen years between 1991 and 2004, Oseid was at home raising her three children: Kelsey, 20; Danny, 17; and Olivia, 15. Her husband Jeff is a pediatrician. The Oseids are members of Christ the King Catholic Church in Minneapolis.

Oseid joined the full-time School of Law faculty in fall 2005 after spending the 2004-05 academic year as a visiting faculty member. As of August 1, Julie will be an Associate Professor.
