LAWS 906-002: Trial Advocacy (Intensive Session)
Professor Hank Shea and U.S. District Judge Joan Ericksen
This is an intensive one-week trial advocacy course taught at the law school from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. the week before spring semester classes. In 2010, the course will meet from Monday, August 23, through Friday, August 27. See the course description for more details on content.
For registration purposes, this course appears on Murphy Online (Class Finder) under the Fall 2010 semester. It is LAWS 906-002, listed with Instructor as “STAFF,” as distinct from the regular-semester course (001) taught by Judge Ann Alton. You may not take both offerings. The intensive course counts as a Fall 2010 course for purposes of residency and course-load requirements and financial aid.
Because of the short, intensive nature of the course, be aware of two restrictions:
1. You should not plan to have other major commitments, such as a job, during the week you take this course. Evenings will need to be devoted to preparation for the next day’s meeting.
2. Once the first day of the course has begun, you will not be permitted to drop the courses unless the reason is a personal, family, or medical crisis.
