FY08 Goals

IRT Goals FY09

  • Begin implementation of the UST Enterprise Portal as the second phase of UST’s WebSPACE initiative, and continue development of the Identity Management project.
     
  • Continue to seek support for the Capital Campaign Plans for UST’s Information Commons and for the upgrades to OEC Auditorium.
     
  • Begin implementation in FY09 of the first phase of the Digital Convergence Initiative, UST’s plan for IP convergence, including voice, data and video.  The first phase is to rewire of the first 50% of UST buildings on the Minneapolis and St. Paul campus that must be upgraded to Category 6 standards.
     
  • Begin planning, analysis and piloting of Software-as-a-Service and Open Source solutions, including Google applications and Moodle course management system.
     
  • Identify goals through planning with key organizational units for customer relationship management (CRM) software.
     
  • Plan and implement Banner 8 upgrade for Summer and Fall 2009, continue progress on server virtualization implementation, and continue development of high level design plans for the new Lindsay Data Center.
     
  • Continue to provide for the timely replacement of enterprise and desktop equipment in support of instruction, scholarly activity and the university’s business functions.
     
  • Continue development and programming for the Faculty Center for Online Teaching and Learning.
     
  • Plan for continuing improvement in client services support for the community, assessment of performance, and methods for communicating IRT’s resources and solutions through the IRT Communications Plan.
     
  • Continue, in conjunction with the Vice President for Student Affairs, to develop Web sites and technology to actively engage students in co-curricular activities and initiatives.
     
  • Continue to support institutional decision making, clear business processes, and strategic planning processes through development of business intelligence projects and support of system audit processes.
     
  • Provide for continuing development of emergency notification, disaster recovery and business continuity planning and implementation.
     
  • Building upon the results of university and IRT planning, and in cooperation with the Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs, continue to work on instructional technology planning and development, including e-learning course and program development initiatives, and the improvement and maintenance of classroom technology equipment and support.
     
  • Provide leadership for the security, privacy and confidentiality for UST systems and networks through the continuing development of the UST Information Security Plan.
     
  • Employ appropriate environmental criteria in the development of infrastructure and the acquisition of computing equipment.
      
  • Ensure all employment search committees for IRT positions consider mission fit in their interview and selection process.
