ISO Nanny for Fall Semester or Full Year

We live in Hamline-Midway and are looking for a nanny for our two daughters (who turned 3 in May and will be turning 2 in September), starting the week of Labor Day.

St. Luke's Youth Guild (Catholic Studies and Art History Majors)

My name is Jess Ferro and I will be starting my Masters this fall in the Catholic Studies program.  I am the founder of a new classical art history program for elementary students, St. Luke's Youth Guild, that will be starting this fall.  St. Luke's Youth Guild will be located at St. Mark's Catholic Church, only a few blocks away from campus.  It will be serving homeschooling students, along with school students through an after school component.

Over the course of 5 weeks in October, with meetings once each week, the Guild will introduce students to Medieval art, from the Viking art of the "Dark Ages" through to the Gothic cathedrals of the High Middle Ages.  In preparing for the upcoming session I am seeking volunteers who enjoy working with children and perhaps might have an interest in helping foster the arts through a Catholic lens.  The homeschooling sessions will be on Wednesdays and Fridays of the month of October and the school sessions will most likely be once a month (details on the school session are still being finalized).

If spending two hours a week with awesome 7-12 year olds looking at beautiful art and getting your hands a little messy with art projects sounds fun, please email me :)  Also, if you're interested, please let me know if you happen to be VIRTUS trained, and if you're not there are sessions coming up so it wouldn't be a problem to get you trained.  Thanks for reading and I look forward to hearing from you!

Faith Formation at St. Mark's

Faith formation at the Church of St. Mark in St. Paul is currently looking for volunteer catechists and assistants for the 2014-2015 school year (Wednesday evenings from September 24-May 6).  We need enthusiastic teachers for 2nd grade First Communion preparation as well as for our 3rd and 5th grade classes.

St. Mark's is also building a core group of catechists for the smallest members of our parish.  Catechesis of the Good Shepherd for ages 3-5 will begin this fall during the 9am Sunday Mass.  Based on the Montessori model for teaching and learning, CGS is rooted in Scripture, liturgy, and respect for the child's rich relationship with God.  We need both full and part-time teachers, and formation with Catechesis of the Good Shepherd will be provided to those interested.

Please contact Cara Stuchlik for more detailed information ( or (651) 645-5717.
