Aztec Art Course is offered this Fall

William Barnes will be teaching Aztec Art , ARTH 291-01 this fall. The course is offered MWF, 9:35 a.m. - 10:40 a.m. in O'Shaughnessy Educational Center, room 203. The course fulfills the Fine Arts and Human Diversity requirement.

The Shape of Mythic Time: Moteuczoma II's Temple Stone and the Apotheosis of Aztec Imperial History

William Barnes presented a paper at the 98th annual CAA meeting in Chicago on Feb. 13. The talk was entitled "The Shape of Mythic Time: Moteuczoma II's Temple Stone and the Apotheosis of Aztec Imperial History" and was in the Association for Latin American Art sponsored session entitled "Between/Beyond Text-Image: Engaging Visual Culture in Mesoamerica and South America."

The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) awarded Dr. Julie Risser, Director of the American Museum of Asmat Art at the University of St. Thomas (AMAA@UST), a grant of $6,000 for her "Climate Monitoring and Climate Improvement for Short-term and Long-term Preservation Needs" project.
